Lucia Coronation
Welcome to celebrate Lucia coronation! Brages Lucia will be crowned during a morning service in Vaasa church at 10:00 AM. The church's staff choir and Brages Lucia will bring beautiful songs! Anette Rönnlund-Nygård and Eva Asplund from USM* will be crowning Lucia this year. A collection will be taken up, in benefit to USM’s Ninni program, supporting children growing up with relatives who struggle with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Evening Lucia Celebration at Kulturhuset Fanny
Welcome to a wonderful Lucia celebration at Cultural house Fanny on December 13th from 6:00–8:00 PM! The address is Kirkkopuistikko 34, Vaasa. During the evening, you can enjoy a festive performance with Lucia, who will sing along with the choir group Pedavoces. A fun activity for the children is playful dances with Lucia while the folkmusic group Korsholmsgillet plays traditional Christmas songs. To keep you warm on this winter evening, there will be a a hot drink (glögg) offering along with sweet bread and gingerbread cookies, available for purchase with card or cash.

Open house in the museum Saturday November 30th, from 11am to 2pm. Traditional rice pudding, drink and gingerbread cookies are served in the cottage. Guided tour.

Folk costume picknick 11.8

Welcome all nationalities to the Brage open-air museum wearing your folk costumes, traditional clothing, selected parts of them, or just enjoy the activities and the company of like-minded people! The event happens on August 11th at 2 pm and is organised by Vaasan Kalevalaiset, Brage i Vasa association, Österbottens Hantverk, Vaasan Karjalaisseura and Alma Adult Education Centre.

 

 

Free concert with classic and newer folksongs at the Brage open-air museum performed by Sofie & Vanda Duo. The museum is open as usual but during the concert we take a break with the guided tours. The café has waffles and coffee, tea or juice for sale.

Coffee party on Sunday 21.7.2024 at 2 pm–4 pm

During women's week we are arranging a coffee party to celebrate the ones who have their name day during the week. During the event, you can familiarize yourself with the Sohlstedt collection in the attic of the main building and hear about its history. Welcome!

 

 

Childrens day is an event for the whole family! It is a free event with farm animals (chicken, sheep and alpacas), painting, giant soap-bubbles, games and more. All the activities can be tried the whole day between 11 and 15.

Waffles and sausage are for sale in the cottage and the yard.

 

The above In English: This summers exchibition opens on Sunday 30th of June at 2pm. Opening speech and appetizers. This years exhibition in the hay barn features nature photography by photographers Jorma Eskola, Johan Geisor and Cristina Mattson.

The exhibition is open during museum open hours from June 30th to August 11th 12-5pm. Free entry!
